The Weekend Getaway Near Jaipur Nobody Tells You About
โBy Om Kanta Farms ยท Ajmer Road, Bhankrota, Jaipur
โ โ
Every article about weekend getaways near Jaipur takes you away from Jaipur โ Pushkar, Ranthambore, Neemrana, Udaipur. And they're all wonderful. But here's what nobody writes about: sometimes the best weekend getaway is Jaipur โ just not the part of it you've seen before.
โ โ
If you're coming from Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, or Kota for a weekend and you want something more than another heritage hotel or a city-centre Airbnb, this article is for you. And if you're a Jaipur resident who simply needs to switch off for 24 hours without travelling anywhere โ this is especially for you.
โ โ
Let us show you a different kind of weekend.
โ โ
Why Jaipur Deserves a Second Look as a Weekend Destination
โ โ
Most people think of Jaipur as a sightseeing destination โ Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar. Tick the boxes, check out, move on.
โ โ
But Jaipur has another side. Twenty-five minutes from the city centre, on the Ajmer Road, the density drops away. The roads quiet down. The air changes. And there are private farms, green estates, and open skies that most visitors โ and even many Jaipur residents โ have never seen.
โ โ
This is where Om Kanta Farms sits. And it's a genuinely different kind of weekend.
โ โ
The Case for a Farm Stay Over a City Hotel
โ โ
When you're planning a weekend getaway, you're essentially choosing between two experiences:
โ โ
The city hotel weekend: Check in, freshen up, head out to see things, come back tired, check out. You've been at Jaipur but you haven't really rested.
โ โ
The farm stay weekend: Arrive, drop your bags, step outside to a private pool surrounded by green lawns and terracotta walls, and slowly exhale. The weekend isn't about what you see โ it's about how you feel by the time Monday comes around.
โ โ
Both are valid. But if rest, privacy, and genuine disconnection is what you're after, a farm stay wins every time.
โ โ
At Om Kanta Farms, the entire 3,000 square yard estate is yours. No shared spaces, no hotel lobbies, no strangers at breakfast. Just your group, your schedule, and a property designed to make you feel genuinely at home.
โ โ
What the Ideal Jaipur Weekend Looks Like From Here
โ โ
Here's a two-day itinerary that gets the balance right โ some exploring, a lot of unwinding.
โ โ
Day 1: Arrive, Decompress, Enjoy
โ โ
12:00 PM โ Drive in Whether you're coming from Delhi (5 hours on NH48), Ahmedabad (6 hours), or just crossing Jaipur city (25 minutes from the station), the drive on Ajmer Road is easy and well-connected. Our property is clearly marked on Google Maps.
โ โ
2:00 PM โ Check-in Our caretaker will be waiting. He'll walk you through the property, show you how everything works, and make sure your setup is exactly as discussed โ whether that's a birthday arrangement, a BBQ setup, or simply fresh towels and a stocked bar counter.
โ โ
2:30 PM onwards โ The Pool There is genuinely no better way to transition from a road trip to a relaxing weekend than a private pool. The pool at Om Kanta Farms is full-length, always ready, and surrounded by the kind of green that only a proper farm can offer. Spend the afternoon here. You've earned it.
โ โ
Sundown โ The Oasis Bar As the light turns golden, The Oasis poolside bar setup comes into its own. This is the hour most of our guests say they'll remember longest โ cold drinks, warm light, open sky, and nothing needing your attention.
โ โ
Evening โ Farmhouse Tavern As the temperature dips (particularly beautiful from October to February), the Farmhouse Tavern takes over. Whether you've brought your own food, arranged a BBQ, or ordered in from one of Jaipur's excellent delivery kitchens, the Tavern โ with its indoor bar, fireplace, and relaxed atmosphere โ is where evenings tend to stretch happily into the night.
โ โ
Night โ Sleep in the Wildflower Suite or Cosy Nest Suite Both bedrooms are styled with a warm farmhouse aesthetic โ think rattan mirrors, vintage lamps, linen drapes, and beds that are actually comfortable. The property sleeps up to 8 guests, and the quiet here โ no traffic noise, no hotel corridors โ is a genuine luxury.
โ โ
Day 2: Explore or Simply Stay
โ โ
The best thing about checking out at 11am is that you have a full morning. Use it one of two ways:
โ โ
Option A โ The Explorer's Morning Jaipur's major sights are 25โ35 minutes away. An early morning visit to Amber Fort (open from 8am, crowds don't peak until 10am) is genuinely magical โ the light on the hillside fort at 8:30am is something photographs don't capture. Pair it with a quick chai stop at Lassiwala on MI Road on the way back, and you've done Jaipur properly.
โ โ
Option B โ The Slow Morning Wake up to the garden. The farm at 7am โ birdsong, dew on the grass, the gardener quietly working, tea in hand โ is a version of Jaipur that most visitors never experience. When our farm is in season, guests receive a complimentary basket of fresh vegetables and herbs grown on the property. A slow morning here, followed by a late breakfast and a final hour by the pool before checkout, is a completely legitimate way to spend the second day.
โ โ
Who This Weekend Works Best For
โ โ
Friend groups (6โ10 people) A private estate with a pool, bar setup, garden, and party room is significantly better value โ and significantly more fun โ than booking six hotel rooms. The per-head cost drops substantially, and you actually spend time together rather than in separate rooms on the same floor.
โ โ
Families with children The garden has space to run. The pool is private, so you're not anxious about strangers. The two-bedroom layout works well for families, and the quiet environment means children sleep well. Several families return multiple times a year.
โ โ
Couples A private estate for two sounds extravagant until you realise that a city-centre hotel room often costs more and gives you considerably less. Two people with an entire farm, pool, and garden to themselves is one of the better romantic gestures available in Rajasthan.
โ โ
Jaipur residents on a staycation This one surprises people until they try it. A 25-minute drive and you're in a completely different environment. No packing for a flight, no hotel check-in lines, no time wasted travelling. The full weekend to actually relax โ in your own city, at a fraction of the effort.
โ โ
Corporate groups Off-sites work better in interesting environments. A poolside morning session, a Farmhouse Tavern evening, and a garden that can accommodate up to 100 guests for a team event โ Om Kanta Farms has hosted multiple corporate off-sites and the feedback is consistent: teams arrive stressed and leave connected.
โ โ
What Makes Om Kanta Farms Different From Other Jaipur Farm Stays
โ โ
There are other farm stays on Ajmer Road. Here's what sets ours apart:
โ โ
It's family-owned and personally run. Om Kanta Farms is named after the parents of our founder, Raj Bansal โ whose family has over 70 years in Indian cinema and a Dada Sahib Phalke Award to their name. This isn't a corporate property managed from a dashboard. Manoj, our caretaker, has been with us for years. When something needs attention, it gets attention.
โ โ
The property is genuinely private. The entire estate โ both suites, the pool, the garden, the Farmhouse Tavern, The Oasis โ is booked to one group at a time. You will not share the property with strangers.
โ โ
The space is generous. 3,000 square yards is a lot of room. Even a group of 10 doesn't feel crowded here. The garden alone โ green, maintained, and large enough for events up to 100 guests โ is a rare luxury this close to a major city.
โ โ
Fresh produce from the farm. When the season allows, we place a basket of freshly picked vegetables and herbs from our own farm at your door. It's a small thing. Guests tell us it's the thing they remember.
โ โ

โ โ
Seasonal Guide: When to Visit
โ โ
October to February โ Peak season The absolute best time. Jaipur winters are genuinely beautiful โ cool, dry, sunny days and crisp evenings perfect for bonfires in the garden. Book 3โ4 weeks in advance for weekends during this period.
โ โ
March to May โ Warm season The pool earns its keep here. Warm days mean the water is perfect, and evenings are pleasant. A shorter notice booking window is usually available.
โ โ
June to September โ Monsoon season Underrated. The farm turns dramatically green, the air smells of petrichor, and the garden is at its most lush. Rain in the evening by the pool is an experience worth planning around. Rates are also at their lowest.
โ โ

Before You Go: A Quick Jaipur Weekend Checklist
โ โ
If you're combining your Om Kanta Farms stay with some Jaipur sightseeing, here's what's worth the time:
โ โ
Amber Fort โ Go early (8โ9am). The crowds at 11am are a different experience entirely.
Nahargarh Fort โ Sunset views over the Pink City. 45 minutes from the property.
MI Road โ Lassiwala for lassi, Niro's for dinner if you're feeling nostalgic, and the old Jaipur bakeries for something to carry home.
Johri Bazaar โ If jewellery or textiles are on the agenda. Bargain with confidence.
Chokhi Dhani โ A little touristy, genuinely fun. Good for groups who want a taste of Rajasthani culture with dinner.
โ โ
None of these are mandatory. The guests who tell us they had the best weekends are usually the ones who spent most of it at the property and ventured out for one thing.
โ โ
That tends to be the point.
โ โ
Om Kanta Farms is a private pool villa and farm stay on Ajmer Road, Bhankrota, Jaipur โ 25 minutes from the city centre and a world away from it. Named after the grandparents of founder Abhimanyu Bansal, the property carries a family legacy spanning over 70 years in Indian cinema, including a Dada Sahib Phalke Award. The farm stay is their newest story โ and one of Jaipur's best-kept secrets.
